Our School Dog - Willow

At Ingoldisthorpe Primary School, we advocate for the mental health and wellbeing of our children. We believe in supporting our children in the best way possible and working with animals is a proven and researched way to support children with SEND, attendance issues and anxiety - to name just a few.

Our school dog is named Willow. She is a 3 year old cockapoo owned by our head teacher, Julia Norman. She is small and good natured, loves relaxing and being pampered. She is also hypo-allergenic, which means she does not moult and is unlikely to cause allergies. She is very used to coming into schools and has previously visited children at Wells Primary School. We are now being supported by the Dog Mentor Program and are very excited to welcome Willow to our school, and are excited about the additional training for staff and children to enable children to fully access the joys of being around Willow.
