Remote Learning

Should your child need to work from home we have developed a remote learning plan which is reflective of our school topics, learning and our students needs. We have worked to ensure that our remote learning is accessible, adaptable and flexible to fit with the needs of our learners and our families.

Our remote learning plan will include:

  • Communication through Class Dojo, email or phone.

  • We provide up to 3 hours of work every day with additional activities to be active and outdoors.

  • We are following our usual topic based, knowledge rich curriculum updated weekly.

  • The offer is the same at school as at home but can be flexible depending on time at home and availability of parents or carers.

  • Work will be commented on as a group and individually if appropriate via zoom sessions, catch up meetings, Class Dojo or via phone calls.

  • Staff will respond to Class Dojo during working hours.

  • All work your child produced is tracked and recorded.  We encourage all children to complete all the daily learning so they are ready when they return to school.

  • Guided reading sessions will take place on a weekly basis, led by a teacher, zoom links will be sent at least 1 week prior to the event.

  • Assemblies will take place via Bible Bites and other video links to help support our spiritual learning while away from school.

  • Class shout outs and stars of the week will continue.

  • Additional tuition will take place where appropriate, with additional explanations, voice notes and individualised communication where needed.

As always we pride ourselves on supporting all of our learners, in school and when they have to be at home. Staff are more than happy to help support in any way we can and especially adapting work to any particular needs the children may have.

OAK ACADEMY

To support our students in all areas of the curriculum, Oak Academy is available; enabling teachers to accurately direct learning for the children and for the lessons to follow a clear format for children to access. These lessons are age appropriate and help support our families to learn while at home. Extra lessons are also available to help push our more able learners as well as differentiation for our SEND students. Click the links below to find the appropriate age and stage for your child.
